Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect rental home:
- Start by having your family decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Astonishing Ocean View with Breakfast 14th Flr has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
