Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. B442:Bright & Beachy 2BR Condo at Myrtle Beach Resort – Steps to Indoor Pool! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
