Tips to get the perfect rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Beach Dreams and Golfers Delight has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
