Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking the bestrental home:
- Start by having your group commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beach Front 2 bedroom 2 bath 7th floor condo in the prestigious Brigadune has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If not, email the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
