Finding the best rental experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to select the best vacation rental:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Luxury Ocean Lake Campground Beach House has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
