Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. COZY Ocean Lake Campground Beach House has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
