Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking your prefectrental:

  • Start by having your group select a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Beachside Comfort 2nd Floor 3 Bedroom Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
