Strategies to get the best vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Beachy Sea Glass Tower, 1 Bedroom Deluxe- Ocean Front View, 25 Steps from WaterC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
