Rental property booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to select the perfect rental:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Unit 351 by the Sea @ The Landmark Resort!\n\n has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
