Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to pick the perfect rental home:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Unit 351 by the Sea @ The Landmark Resort!\n\n has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Tips for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
