Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Beautiful Five Bedroom Beach House with Elevator in the Golden Mile Section! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
