Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:

  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your group select dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful Lakefront Beach Home 300 feet from the beach, Quiet dead end street has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
