Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautiful new home, 3 Bed 2.5 bath, 4min walk to beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
