How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. South Tower-Ocean Creek-1st Floor-Spacious Condo-June-July-Aug Openings-FUN-FUN has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
