Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, selecting, and booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Beautiful Ocean Front Double Queen Suite with Full Kitchen, Sea Mist Resort 20705 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
