Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
