Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- To start, have your family commit to the best dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Charming 3 Bdr 2 Ba house in wonderful Ocean Lakes Campground has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Contact the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
