Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning, selecting, and booking yourvacation home:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Coastal Getaway 4th Flr 3BR Angle Ocean View Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your family.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
