Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Coastal Luxury 9th Floor Oceanfront 4BR Condo has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
