Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your group select a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 18C Richmond Park, remodeled villa with full access to amenities has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
