Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect rental:
- Start by having your group decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Pool, Waterslides has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
