Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • To find the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book the best Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Direct Oceanfront, Ocean Creek, South Tower 5th Floor Gg5 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
