Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental home:
- Start by having your group agree to vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Direct Oceanfront, Ocean Creek, South Tower 5th Floor Gg5 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
