Our top Rental property booking tips:

Finding the best value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Dolphin Cove: 2 BR Oceanfront Condo with Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
