Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- To get the best rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family select a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Seaside 17th Floor Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Retreat has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
