Our top Vacation rental tips:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Onsite Dining
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review.
