Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:

Finding your best deal:

  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. FullCondo\/Grande Cayman Resort N. Ocean Blvd. kbed has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is suitable for your group.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
