Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Gorgeous 1 Bedroom Condo in Ocean Creek! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
