How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Gorgeous Ocean Front Suite + Onsite Pool has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
