Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- To start, have your family decide on dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Gorgeous Ocean View King Suite w\/ Balcony + Onsite Pool has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
