Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Great location on the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
