Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Harbour Lights Resort - Hotel Room has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
