Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Discounts. 3 min. 3 bedroom OCEANVIEW condo at Ocean Creek Resort. has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
