Strategies to get the optimal rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Heron Pointe Modern Villa w Pools has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is right for your trip.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
