Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to select the best vacation home:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. HOME, CLOSE TO ALL POPULAR ATTRACTIONS. 5-MINUTE DRIVING DISTANCE TO BEACHFRONT has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
