Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- To start, have your family agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Horizons at 77th - 2 Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
