Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Horizons at 77th - 2 Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
