Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. LA5 Ocean View beautiful condo right on the beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
