Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Large Family Friendly Condo - Steps to the Beach! Close to Attractions! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
