Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and pick yourrental:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Large Family Friendly Condo - Steps to the Beach! Close to Attractions! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. message the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
