Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Lively Views from the balcony at Ocean Forest Plaza has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
