Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and choosing the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Location, location!!! Ocean view free golf cart and jacuzzi, WIFI, Smart TV has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or may be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
