Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Luxury 2nd floor Unit Convenient to town and the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
During your stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
