How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Small Dog Friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
