Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to pick the best vacation rental:

  • Start by having your family select vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Magnolia Place - Myrtle Beach 5 Blocks from the Ocean has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
