How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To find the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Maisons Sur Mer -Oceanfront Luxury has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
