Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by having your group select vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Maisons Sur Mer -Oceanfront Luxury has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
