Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Ocean Creek Family Friendly Oceanfront Resort Recently Updated has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
