Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Myrtle Beach Mecca, HEATED private pool, by the beach has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
