Tips and Tricks for getting the best rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Wyndham SeaWatch
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, contact the host before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is best for your group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
