How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and picking the perfectrental:
- Start by having your group decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. A236 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Splendid Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
