Tips for getting the perfect vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- To find the best rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Myrtle Beach, SC, USA-Condo on golf course Only 1.5 Miles from Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
