How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. New, Beautiful Decor, Meridian Plaza, Pools, Nice! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
