Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Newly Remodeled 2BR Great Views, Pools, Low Floor! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
