Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First, have your family decide on trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. NEW! *Golf Cart* Boho Beach Condo -Mins to BEACH has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
